OUR WINES
We produce, bottle and sell three different organic wines. Two reds and one rosato.
Our wines
The philosophy behind Pian della Chiesa’s wines is rooted in organic agriculture that listens to and follows the rhythms of nature.
Our vineyards of Syrah, Merlot, Cabernet Franc, and the local variety Massaretta grow in clay-loam soils, between the flats of a karstic basin and the south-facing stone terraces. Here they benefit from a unique microclimate, shaped by proximity to the sea and cooled by surrounding oak woods.
The vines share space with olive trees, fruit trees, bees, chickens, and geese that roam between the rows. They contribute to a balanced farm ecosystem and support a holistic approach where everything exists in relationship with everything else.
In the vineyard, we're always learning new practices that nurture soil vitality: cover cropping and minimal tilling that avoids deep ploughing to preserve the structure and life of the soil. In the cellar, we apply a minimal, respectful vinification: we avoid added sulphites, and experiment with spontaneous fermentation, embracing unpredictability as part of the wine’s identity.
The wines that result are honest, vibrant, and never quite the same. They express a place, a way of living the land, and a winemaking practice that celebrates authenticity and the beauty of the territory.
